Keeley Speaks to GB News:
In an interview with GB News, solicitor and campaigner Keeley Lengthorn called on the government to introduce paid leave for parents who experience miscarriage. Sharing her own story of losing her son George at 22 weeks, Keeley explained why treating baby loss as “sick leave” fails grieving families and why urgent change in the law is needed.
Evening Echo Interview:
Keeley was featured in the Southend Echo after delivering a new cold cot to southend hospital’s Maternity Bereavement Suite, giving families more time with their baby following a loss. The refrigerated unit, developed by a baby loss charity called Abigail’s Footsteps, helps preserve a baby’s body. This allows parents more time to bond, say goodbye, and create lasting memories during an incredibly difficult time.
Law Society Gazette report:
In an interview with the Law Gazette Keeley told how news of the proposed law change was ‘‘more than we ever could have hoped for”. She said: ‘George’s Law was initially intended to campaign for three days and this is two weeks. I got the message about the law change and I was just stunned into silence. Part of me feels I should be sad, especially as I found out on his birthday. But to know his memory is going to help 250,000 families a year is absolutely massive.”
